TO My Child"

*Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

*Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

*Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

*Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble, when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you one if he comes by.

*Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.

*Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.

*Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.

*Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.

*Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and
not get angry.

*Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

*Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.

*Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.

*I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children. The mothers and fathers who are visting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mother and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children senselessly suffer, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore..

*And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask Him for nothing, except one more day................

"Every Saint Has a Past, Every Sinner Has A Future"

I do not know the author of this piece, but was written for someones daughter and forwarded to me in an email.  It was so poignant that I wanted to include it here on Craig's site.  We never know what tomorrow will bring so take advantage of the time we have.

Birthday / Mom (Mom)

Baby boy, and yes you're still my baby no matter how old you were when you bacame and angel.  I have been thinking of you so much lately.  Monday will be your birthday and it just doesn't seem possible that I won't be able to call and wish you a happy day.  I hope you, Dad and Preston celebrate your day.  You know we will all be thinking of you and missing you so.

I know you are so proud of Georgia and Jack.  They are doing so well in school.  Tracy and Georgia are donating time to the hospice where you spent your last days to help other families and also to the food pantry in Wilmington.  I haven't heard from Mandy in a little while but your grandkids are getting big too.  We hear from Craig Jr. too and Marcia calls me almost every week.  Her two little girls are adorable.

Kim was here yesterday too and he said he misses you so very much.  He said you guys were pals.

Well, my darling, give Dad and Preston some hugs and kisses for me.  I miss you all so very much.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE.

You Gotta Make Time  / Pete Yurgel (Friend)

I started writing this song the day I found out Craig had passed away. Back in February 2008, Craig asked me about getting together for a beer and a chat. I had been coming into town on Fridays for PT so we set up a couple of times and places, but Craig never made it. He never told me how sick he had become. I wish Craig and I had become closer friends. The boss thing always got in the way while he worked for me. I always felt we had a lot in common and could have had some good times fishing or whatnot. He asked me a few times about teaching Jackson to hunt. I spoke with one of Craigs friends at the service who I had met at work. He told me Craig kept a lot of folks from knowing how sick he had gotten.  Craig was always kind of cryptic with me when I asked about his health.

Another friend of mine passed away recently. The preacher talked about death being another miracle, just like birth. His sermon really made a lot of sense. We are all sad and lost when some close passes on, but the miracle of the resurrection will keep us all together some day.

Service Project Proposal:   Meals of Love

Over the past few years, I have volunteered my time with different organizations such as Mother Hubbard's Cupboard and the Humane Society.  This year though, I have decided to give back in a different way; I'm going to volunteer my time at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice.  On June 1st, 2008, my father passed away peacefully within the loving doors of Hospice.  While he was there, the employees made sure that my family and I were in a comfortable environment and had plenty of resources available to us.  One resource in particular was the array of food one could grab while spending time with their loved one.  In return, I would like to thank them by replenishing the supply of food for other families; I'm going to create dishes under the Organization called "Meals of Love".  By doing this, I will be able to heal a part of my heart and help the community at the same time.

"Meals of Love is an Organization hosted by Lisa Sherril for The Lower Cape Fear Hospice where they donate home-cooked dishes to supply the families with a feeling of warmth and love.

YOU GOTTA MAKE TIME

I'M SORRY THAT WE NEVER DID GET TOGETHER
TO TALK ABOUT OLD TIMES OVER A BEER.
CAUSE THIS MORNING WHEN I PICKED UP THE PAPER
I FOUND OUT THAT YOU WERE NO LONGER HERE.
I GUESS WE BOTH WERE JUST TOO BUSY,
TO MEET UP AT THE BAR AND HAVE THAT DRINK
NOW THAT I KNOW IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN,
IT MADE ME JUST SIT HERE AND THINK.

YOU GOTTA MAKE TIME FOR THE ONES THAT REALLY MATTER.
YOU GOTTA MAKE TIME FOR THE ONES YOU CARE ABOUT.
BECAUSE TIME WILL KEEP ROLLING ON FOREVER,
BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOUR TIME WILL JUST RUN OUT.

I MADE IT OVER TO THE SERVICE,
THAT THEY HAD FOR YOU ON YOUR FRONT LAWN.
TALKED AWHILE WITH YOUR WIFE AND CHILDERN,
THEY'RE TRYING HARD TO GET ALONG.
I LEARNED A WHOLE LOT MORE ABOUT YOU,
WHEN THE PREACHER READ YOUR EULOGY.
HE SAID IN THE END THAT YOU FOUND JESUS,
NOW I KNOW YOU'RE WHERE I HOPED YOU'D BE.

YOU GOTTA MAKE TIME FOR THE ONES THAT REALLY MATTER.
YOU GOTTA MAKE TIME FOR THE ONES YOU CARE ABOUT.
BECAUSE TIME WILL KEEP ROLLING ON FOREVER,
BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOUR TIME WILL JUST RUN OUT.

I STARTED THINKING ABOUT MY OLD FRIENDS,
THAT I LOST TOUCH WITH LONG AGO,
WONDERING HOW THEIR LIVES TURNED OUT,
DOWN WHICH PATHS THEY CHOSE TO GO.
SO I STARTED SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET,
TRACKIN' THEM DOWN ONE BY ONE.
FINDING OUT ALL THE THINGS THAT THEY DID,
SHARING WITH THEM ALL I'VE DONE.

YOU GOTTA MAKE TIME FOR THE ONES THAT REALLY MATTER.
YOU GOTTA MAKE TIME FOR THE ONES YOU CARE ABOUT.
BECAUSE TIME WILL KEEP ROLLING ON FOREVER,
BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOUR TIME WILL JUST RUN OUT.

Undying Love  / Carol Littlejohn (Mom)

There are things that happen in our lives that we think should never be, but we do not control them.  You never think that you will outlive your child no matter what, but that is not always true.  You learn to accept it and go on, but that undying love remains forever in your heart.  No one ever said life is fair and in many ways it is not.  I firmly believe though as time goes on the memories we cherish the most will be the good memories we have of our loved one.  Craig was my baby...lol.  I know he was 51, but nevertheless still my baby.  He suffered much in his last two years of life and now I feel he is with his dad(papa Don)and his grandson(Preston)surrounded by love.  So to all my loves that I have lost I know you are at peace now and will suffer no more.  I will go forward and think of the good memories as I know you would want me to do.  When I see special things I will think of you and be happy.  Love you forever,

Mom
